I am a plankton ecologist, studying plankton taxonomy (zoo- and phytoplankton) and ecology. My research particularly focuses on plankton variability in relation to forcing abiotic and biotic parameters, on introduced non-indigenous plankton species and on food web functioning. I am particularly interested in measuring zooplankton grazing impact on potential prey dynamics (phyto- and microzooplankton) and on nutrient cycling using distinct predator/prey models (copepods, ctenophores). I am an associate professor at the Université du Littoral Côte d’Opale (ULCO) and at the Laboratory of Oceanography and Geosciences of Wimereux (LOG). Over the last few months, my research focused on microplastics, their impact on zooplankton and the role played by copepods as potential microplastics vectors to higher food webs. I particularly aim to quantify microplastics contamination of zooplankton in the Bay of Brest so as to test observed levels of contamination in laboratory experiments and transfer to fish larvae (sea bass).
