Dr Stefanie Kaiser
Stefanie Kaiser is a marine biologist based at Senckenberg institute in Hamburg. Her research spans systematic, ecological and biogeographic approaches to examine biodiversity and distribution patterns of isopod crustaceans across different marine environments (e.g. polar, deep sea). Stefanie has a particular interest in understanding the ecological drivers of benthic biodiversity patterns and assessing responses to environmental change (e.g. climate induced, mineral activities). She is currently working as a post doc in the EU FP7 project MIDAS (Managing Impacts of Deep-seA reSource exploitation) to investigate the scale of ecological footprints of mining impacts on deep-sea communities and their ability to recover. |
